The Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE) is a national professional, non-profit organization registered under the Societies Registration Act of 1860. Established in 1941 as the Association of Principals of Technical Institutions (APTI), it was renamed as Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE) in 1968 with the objective of promoting and strengthening quality technical education throughout India.
ISTE is one of the largest professional organizations of technical educators in India, having thousands of faculty members, student members, institutional members, faculty chapters and student chapters spread across engineering colleges, polytechnics and universities.
The Society organizes faculty development programmes, student conventions, technical competitions, seminars, workshops, conferences and various professional development activities for enhancing technical education.
