The primary objective of committees implementing the UMMEED (Understand, Motivate, Manage, Empathise, Empower, Develop) framework and the MANODARPAN initiative in colleges is to establish a comprehensive and compassionate ecosystem for the promotion of student mental health and emotional well-being. These initiatives aim to prevent student suicides and address related psychosocial stressors by creating a supportive, stigma-free campus environment.
